this speech scares me to death...here is the text

Barack Obama’s speech Thursday in Germany may have grabbed the attention of the crowd of 200,000 with its outline of his world view, but his introduction was enough to catch attention back home.

“I come to Berlin as so many of my countrymen have come before, although tonight, I speak to you not as a candidate for president, but as a citizen — a proud citizen of the United States, and a fellow citizen of the world,” Obama said from his perch next to the Victory Column in Berlin, from which he could see throngs of spectators.

To several observers at home, that opening was the speech’s most noteworthy flourish.

“The opening line where he said he wasn’t speaking as a candidate but as a citizen of the world … it might have seemed appropriate for that audience, but you can’t remove the candidacy factor from it,” said Linda Hobgood, director of the Speech Center in the Department of Rhetoric and Communication Studies at the University of Richmond. “So it might have been more accurate to say, ‘While I am a candidate, I am also a citizen of the world.’”

citizen of one world...it sounds like he wants to run, or save the entire world...is it coming to a one world government...it sounds like he wants to be that man who does it...

This might be kinda long. I dont really get that much into history but I found a quote by the great Theodore Roosevelt 1907 which is what I think a perfect reason why Mr. Obama being president of the United States scare me to death - It read the follow
"For it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Preach it Theo

back off rider.....TR took over McKinley's admin which got us into the Phillippines and the remnants of what was left of the Spanish colonies i.e. Cuba, Panama from the war in 1898-99.
He busted big business, kept it in check, built a kick-butt Navy that said dont mess with us, without using it. He started environmental awareness with naming dozens of federally protected parks, mainly Yellowstone, without being an environmental whacko.
Personally, I think he was our best prez next to George, Abe, and of course Millard Fillmore.

First off I was not trying to say he was the best Prez to ever serve in office. I was simply stating his quote, fits to a "T" why Mr. Obama may not be a good fit for the Leader of our Nation.

Muncy, thanks for the comment to get this great debate started. I feel this is a very imporant election to the future of our country and I don't want an individual leading our country who doesn't have the stones to stand up and let us know where and what his morals are, if he has any. He can't run an entire election on the precedent of change alone. If Jesse Jackson wants to cut the guys nuts off that should tell us all we need to know about the guy.
